Gig turned out good. People liked us. That's always preferable.
I'm trying to IM with John in Austin, but he fell strangely silent, so I'm reading my friend's lj & taking stupid quizzes in between.

All is weird in Austin

OK, the long strange silences from Austin are explained. John is trying to be help desk for the other guys, who can't get network connections. The hotel is so new, the staff haven't been trained fully, and no one there knows how to use the high-speed internet connections, let alone walk the guests thru it. They ended up having John call the company that wired the building to get the info. Now his PC is the only one (of four, in two rooms) that gets network connectivity. How bizarre.
