I Hate My Sinuses
May. 21st, 2004 07:06 pmWent to the CMF for a while last night. Good turnout for a Thursday. Saw a few surprisingly good bands, and heard a bit of bad news from my favorite server at Cafe 101 - CSU locked Sam (the owner) out, and won't let him get the rest of his equipment and stuff. Just goes a bit further to advance my conspiracy-theory idea that someone at CSU is in Aramark's pocket, or vice-versa.
Then I woke up bright and early to go to work, and moved my head. !@#$%^&*&^%$#@!!!! Sinus pain from hell again. I'd been saving money by buying the generic version of Claratin, instead of the generic Claratin-D. This usually doesn't cause too much of a problem, but with moving PCs around dust-filled cubicles, and working in a beautiful old building that is literally removing & replacing their roof, causing clouds of nasty particles to float down where I sit doing compliance auditing, and the weather doing it's usual spring in Cleveland split personality thing, I'm in sinus hell.
I took a sudaphed & 2 extra-strength tylenols, drank some coffee. No relief, so an hour and a half later I took 2 more with another cup of coffee. Still miserable. Around noon, I took 2 "non-drowsy, non-drying" sinus headche stuff, and twenty minutes later, POW. I had that horrible dizzy/woozy sorta high but my head is exploding thru the top feeling. Can we say Over-Medicated? Laid back with a pillow under my neck to keep my head in one place, trying to avoid moving it, which was causing tremendous amounts of pain. Next thing I know, it's 4 hours later, the Lakewood siren is going off, and the sky turns black. My head goes POP, and I can breathe, just as the rain/hail/wind starts coming in the window at me.
I still have a residual headache, and that nasty lost-time feeling. I'm trying to decide whether to go see John play, go hand out cards for Lava Room at CMF, or stay home & sleep more. We'll see what happens.
