Aug. 4th, 2004 08:49 pmThis is the Barbie 45th Anniversary, and Mattel is celebrating. The fact that Mattel is exploiting such an odd numbered anniversary is overshadowed by the fact that Barbie is older than me!
The redesign of ClevelandWeirdness is up, mostly. I despaired of ever finishing this incredibly long migration, and so cheated, and put up some pages that are only polite placeholders. As time becomes available, I'll be completing it. Everybody that I promised a link or mention to, I'm getting them added, slowly but surely. Learn patience. I am.
Personally, I'm feeling almost human today. I know there's no such thing as heat stroke, really, but that's what happens to me. Long exporsure to sun poisons me, I get fevered, weak, and aching. I really need to find a nocturnal existance once school is finally over. I do better at night, with no sun to hurt the eyes and the skin. No, I am not a vampire. Really. I'm as human as any of you.
According to the paperwork I received in the mail today, I may be getting my financial aid applied before the school year starts. This means, for the first time, I will be able to buy books before classes start, when the used books are available. I haven't taken that trip to the bookstore to find out just how expensive books will be this year. It's the one thing that's not available to check online; you have to physically go & look down the aisles for class numbers & books required. The bookstore does offer an online ordering system where you supply class numbers, and your credit card, and they have the stack waiting for you later. You don't get the bill til after the books are picked & pulled, and nowhere are you told in advance what the book titles are or how much they cost. Not an acceptable way to do it, in my opinion.
Clint Eastwood is on 60 Minutes. I'm stopping here.
edit: later: I'm diappointed in TV. I want to work in TV. Someplace that runs all night. This, to me, could be fun.
