Paid Singing Gig 1, Season Opening Night 0

Tonight is opening night of Season, the first one I've missed in a long time. I have a feeling I'll make up for it tomorrow night.
Ah, Season. To me, it means a very special time. People who do shows, or Ren Faires, or long festivals, understand that feeling - spending inordinate amounts of time around really strange people, who turn into a psuedo-family, for rather small material compensation, but the joy of the art and the craft, the performance, makes up for all of it.
The Season's own peculiar kind of performance means that the exhileration and satisfaction of a job well done can also be rewarded by a wet spot on the floor. This is the only theatre I've ever seen where the audience applauds a job well done by leaving some of their bodily fluids on the floor.
And so, Happy Halloween. The Season starts.
