My laptop, and how I love it, -OR- My life in computing hell.
After suffering for weeks with random freezing every 20 minutes or so after an abortive install of SP2, then freezes every 5 minutes or so on Monday, I bit the bullet & re-formatted & re-installed XP. It seems to be running just fine now, after all the updates are in, but alas! only a small fraction of the programs are back in.
And it's amazing how many little tiny tweaks are done over the space of three years - and how few are remembered and/or documented. Sigh.
So I'll post this, and look to see if it's there, (to test my installs of Semagic & Firefox, respectively) and then go back to trying to figure out where I put my install discs for Studio MX.
