For all the gamers on my list - wouldn't it be nice to have this?

BoingBoing calls it the Ultimate RPG Gaming Table and says it "is a homebrew project from some serious gamer makers. The table sports dice pits, individual lighted player stations, a DM's station with a space for a computer, and a system of under-table tubes through which the DM can pass "message spheres" bearing s33kr1ts to individual player-stations. Woah."
There's also a comment & link on the site from a guy that does maps in Photoshop, masks them, them projects the map on the table, erasing as they go along. Hmmm....
Here's the story.
-----
In the olden days, someone with knowledge of a craft, a process, or even a narrative was revered; they were the elders and shamen of tribes and villages. Nowadays, millions of billions of pieces of information lie waiting in the ether, making anyone with an internet connection an instant expert. Or, at least, a journeyman, ready to apply the information and make it knowledge, to do or create something that once was a preciously-guarded trade secret. Scary, and liberating, and with unseen implications for future generations.
The above paragraph of ruminations courtesy of Too Much Research Reading. I'm getting sucked into philosophical reflections on applied communication theories while trying to figure out exactly what I want to do my thesis on. I intend to blather more about this later on the grad school journal.

Another reason why I love BoingBoing - a link to papercraft Disney buildings, a fashion show where the crystal dress evidently does a Transformers thing (I don't know, the wmv is way glitchy and hangs when I try to watch it), and cryptozoology, political
bashing and movie and music mashups, all from just this weekend. I love that blog.
Another thing I love - making people scream, fall down, run away, and piss their pants. Yep, it's Halloween Season again, and Bloodview is better than therapy for getting rid of rage, hate, and pent-up frustrations. When I'm not in the moment, being a monster, I feel sorry for those customers that look like my ex, my mom, previous bosses and neighbors. I'd also like to thank them for supporting charities as well as my mental health.
Now back to reading research papers.
