I have personally never bid on something that I did not intend to buy, but, I have won the bid on something and, unfortunately, an unexpected shortage of funds came about.
Did you let the seller know, or leave him hanging, even after an invoice, a payment reminder, a personal email asking if there were extenuating circumstances, and a non-paying bidder warning email? If the guys (twice this happened, on the same piece of equipment!) would have just said, sorry, shit happens, got no cash, I would have been pissed, but I wouldn't have gone thru all the crap to have them blacklisted on eBay. Which I did. And still feel bad about.
